Until we started out in the industry I don’t think I could ever have imagined the wealth of possible venues this country has to offer. Not to mention the increasingly popular option of using somewhere that’s not a wedding venue, like Bren and Sarah earlier this year, or Pete and Gael who’s farm wedding won ‘Best Ceremony’ last year. We’ve shot at over 150 different venues around the country each with its own unique take on a wedding day.
We love variety, but there’s a few venues that we shoot at more regularly and Peckforton Castle, Vince and Sonia’s chosen venue, just so happens to be one of them. With a fantastic team over in Cheshire we always head to Peckforton excited to get to work and eager to see how the day unfolds.
Vince and Sonia met three years ago and their relationship had a somewhat tentative start, although she liked Vince right away Sonia was reluctant to make the first move as her English wasn’t so great. Despite her anxiety a minor language barrier couldn’t get in their way and it’s easy to see why.
I’d seen Vince’s excited nerves during his morning prep but when Sonia arrived at the front of the Great Hall there wasn’t a person in the room who couldn’t see how right they are together. Even with the majestic ceiling towering overhead, the most captivating thing in the room was the connection between two people (Even with our favourite ring bearing owl ‘Mango’ attempting to steal the spotlight for a moment).
Our favourite thing about being a recommended supplier for Peckforton Castle is the variety of weddings we see there and perhaps more significantly the people we meet.
As Sonia and Vince took to the beautifully lit dancefloor they were surrounded by friends and family from all over the world. It seems fairly unlikely that the same collection of people will all be in one place again for quite some time and it’s hard to imagine a better lasting memory than dancing the night away in an incredible English castle.
As always a huge thank you goes to the staff at Peckforton for always being so helpful and organised on the day. The venue was spectacularly decorated by Ian Lloyd Events LTD and the lighting and entertainment was taken care of by the ever impressive HipSwing.
