York Maze Wedding Photographers York
It’s been a couple of years since we last shot a wedding at York Maze, I remember seeing it for the first time and knowing right away that it fitted in perfectly with our relaxed style. So as we headed out to Emily and David’s York Maze wedding earlier this month we had a feeling we knew how this one was going to go. I suppose our biggest clue was meeting Emily and David for their engagement shoot (but I’d like to think it was just down to intuition) where we heard about the plans for the day first hand.
It’s incredible how much weddings have changed here in the UK, I think the biggest change is the amount of choice when it comes to wedding venues. With so much choice out there it seems that more and more of our couples are opting for a venue that really is perfect for them and to us, David and Emily exemplify this.
They have very different jobs, David in IT and Emily a teacher, yet I imagine each can be quite stressful. I wonder if that’s a part of what makes their connection so obvious, they always seem so genuinely happy together it’s hard not to feel moved by it. Their day brought together all of the most important people in their lives, friends and family all of whom seemed to share their relaxed attitudes. There wasn’t any awkward small talk going on, walking around the venue all we heard were anecdotes and belly laughs. Even pets were welcome, with several guests bringing along their dogs!
The speeches are always a part of the wedding we love, hearing stories and learning more about the people whose day we are a part of. I loved David’s, especially when he addressed exactly why he loves Emily.
“I don’t know why, I just DO!”
It might not be the kind of line we read in books or see in films, but it’s about as honest as it gets. After all love isn’t something we can explain, so why should we? I can’t tell you why Emily loves David, and I can’t tell you why David loves Emily. But I can say, with absolute certainty, that these two are very much in love.
