Best Yorkshire Wedding Photographers 2018
It feels like every year we get a similar feeling when we go through images and write up text for our annual ‘best of’ post. That all too familiar ‘where did last year go!?’ feeling. It feels like yesterday that we were finalising our best of 2017 post and working out our goals and aims for 2018. I’m not sure that even our most optimistic goals would have been enough for the incredible year we’ve just had, personally and professionally.
We made a conscious decision to focus on our personal lives a little more, first and foremost that meant making a real effort to work predominantly in the North of England. Yorkshire is after all where we met, where we married and where we still live. That’s not to say we’re not working further afield anymore, just that we’re being a little more selective about the bookings we take in an attempt to enjoy more time together and less time travelling.
What we didn’t realise was just how much changing the way we approach weddings would rejuvenate our love for this incredible job. We met more amazing couples this year than we could have imagined and saw the kind of love and connections that we adore as photographers. We’ve always said that the couples we work for are at the very heart of what we do and the Sansom Photography class of 2018 embody that for us in a way we will never forget.
Along the way we moved house for the first time in a decade – an unexpected move that has given us a truly beautiful place to live. Chris was honoured to be asked to compete on Ninja Warrior UK for a third time (this time as an ‘All Star’ – keep an eye out on ITV when it airs later this year) and we had some unforgettable personal high points as well.
2018 was supposed to be the year we found our ideal work/life balance. It’s safe to say that after 9 years in business we managed that and so much more. This year more than ever we owe so much of that professional and personal fulfilment to our couples. We go into 2019 full of excitement for what we already know will be the most incredible year yet. There’s plenty of changes to come, but we couldn’t be more excited for them!
