Wood Hall Wedding Photography Yorkshire | Destination Wedding Photographers London
It’s amazing how easy it can be to miss what’s right in front of you. Most of us spend so much time keeping busy that we live with a constant state of tunnel vision. Part of being a wedding photographer is all about being acutely aware of what’s around you and it’s something we work hard at on every shoot. Chris and Anne’s Wood Hall wedding was the perfect reminder of just why it’s so important to really see the world around you. Despite meeting at work and seeing each other a few times it wasn’t till a night out that Chris saw Anne’s fun side! It makes you wonder how many people miss out on getting to know someone special.
We first met Anne and Chris back in March for their engagement shoot around Yorkshire’s Harewood House where we got to know them both a bit better. They are the kind of couple who’s connection is instantly apparent, comfortable enough to get lost in conversation while we scrambled up trees or over hills in search of a better angle. It was just the same on the day of the wedding, watching these two through our lenses it was hard to imagine them ever not having an incredible connection.
The morning of the wedding was an unusually relaxed affair especially for an early ceremony which was to take place in the Parish Church in Bardsey, within walking distance of Anne and Chris’ home. Any photographers out there will know just how varied churches can be when it comes to photographing the ceremony so I breathed a fairly hefty sigh of relief when the vicar made it clear he was happy for us to shoot from the front of the church.
It’s just one of those moments that you know will be looked at for years to come. The church, one of Yorkshire’s oldest, was a beautiful setting for the ceremony so the freedom to shoot away certainly wasn’t wasted!
For a day that started relatively early things flew by and before we knew it the evening was creeping in. With just enough time before the first dance we took Chris and Anne a short way up Wood Hall’s drive for a couple shoot. We did have some reservations about asking a bride to climb over a wobbly metal gate but having grown up on a farm and being keen on climbing this was one bride who had no problem hopping over, Benjamin Robert dress and all.
As we arrived back at Wood Hall the evening dancing was just about ready to kick off, a reminder to all of us just how fast a wedding day flies by, especially in the company of an exceptional couple!
