Hazlewood Castle Engagement Photography Yorkshire

The “golden hour” is a term well known in the photography world, it describes that elusive time just before the sun is about to set and the sky has an incredible warm glow to it. We rarely get to experience it on shoots due to the unpredictable British weather but on those rare occasions like the day of Nicola and Keith’s engagement session we definitely make sure we make the most of it!

Nicola and Keith are getting married at Hazlewood Castle later this year, they wanted to have their engagement session in the same location to incorporate the lovely blossom trees that are well known at Hazlewood. We arranged the shoot around the time of sunset and were ready to be disappointed in the event of a misty, over-cast evening as has happened in the past! However as we greeted Nicola and Keith the clouds cleared and the sky turned a deep orange – perfect!

Chris is always keen to show of his tree-climbing skills and that night was no different! Taking up Keith’s kind offer of a leg up we finished the shoot under and (in Chris’ case IN) an amazing tree. We loved walking around the grounds of Hazlewood getting to know another lovely couple who really treasure photography as much as we do. We are looking forward to seeing what else Hazlewood has in store for Nicola and Keith’s wedding later this year!
