Charlotte & Mike’s Scarborough Beach Wedding Photography
It always amazes me the amount of choice that’s out there nowadays when it comes to weddings. There’s a seemingly endless choice of suppliers and venues, not to mention the different ways you can structure a day. Mike and Charlotte’s Scarborough beach wedding is the perfect example of the kind of variety we see each year when it comes to weddings. Mike and Charlotte’s number one priority when it came to the wedding was photographs, not entirely surprising when you consider that they are both in the process of building up their own wedding photography business!
We’ve had weddings that break the mould when it comes to structure before, Pete and Gael’s French inspired wedding is the perfect example with their relaxed speeches/meal/singing/dancing combo. For Mike and Charlotte’s day the structure was one that we’d never quite experienced before, but got all of our creative juices flowing and had us both super excited to start shooting as we headed over in the morning earlier this month.
In many ways the day went how we would normally expect up to the ceremony, albeit in a stunning outdoor location overlooking the Scarborough bay. It was from here on though that things got particularly awesome for us! After grabbing a quick ice cream with their guests Mike and Charlotte headed out onto the beach for a couple of hours of photographs (hence the longer than normal post!).
Enough time for us all to walk the length of the bay as well as stopping at the arcades and fish and chip shop on the way. It’s this kind of creative freedom that we seldom get on a wedding day and we were in the unique position of being able to take as much time as we needed finding some awesome locations.
Not to mention Charlotte’s willingness to help out when it came to getting some really unforgettable shots. We wouldn’t normally expect to see a bride’s dress dripping wet and covered in sand but all we can say is a huge thank you to both Mike and Charlotte for going the extra mile and helping us get the kind of shots that we’ll remember for years to come and that they can treasure for generations!
After a few hours enjoying the sea-side town Charlotte and Mike headed back to conclude their “day out at the beach” with speeches and a good catch up with all their friends and family. Safe to say it’s been tough to choose this selection with so many awesome shots, but we hope it shows that a wedding is whatever you want it to be.
