Lake Bled Wedding Photography Slovenia | Destination Wedding Photographers London

It’s strange to think that Christmas is just around the corner, in a year when it feels like everything’s happened all at once the idea of there being just 13 days left of 2015 is pretty hard to grasp, especially with everything we still want to do before the year is out. 2015 has been a lot of things for us, but perhaps most of all it’s been the year of the Adventure Shoot. We recently posted Jadlyn and Moses’ Lake District shoot and before that we had Ant and Louise’s Destination Adventure. Well we’ve got one more epic destination engagement to share with you before we post as many weddings as we can before we hit 2016.

Emma and Rich chose Lake Bled as the location for their shoot and also for their destination wedding in a couple of years’ time. From the moment Emma first contacted us we were blown away with this picturesque town, but nothing could quite have prepared us for the way the place would reach us on such a personal level when we arrived in Slovenia on a cold weekend in November. Like most people who get into the habit of keeping busier than we probably should it’s pretty difficult for us to switch off properly, but for our short time in Bled we found ourselves completely detached from everything that was going on back in the UK.

We’d seen all of the photos online and we already knew that it would be a beautiful place, but it’s hard to fully appreciate it until you actually get there. It’s the kind of place where there is a photo around every corner and from the moment we left the airport to the moment we took off on the plane home we didn’t stop taking photos. As hard as I try I can’t quite put into words the effect this place had on us, but we won’t forget our time there and something tells me we’ll be back more than once before the wedding!

Of course one of the most memorable things about the trip was Emma and Rich themselves. It’s amazing how we often feel like we’ve got to know couples a little before we even meet them and within a few minutes of chatting as we walked up the drive to the castle overlooking the lake we knew that they were the kind of couple who could get on with just about anyone. More than anything though, they seemed incredibly happy and content in each other’s company, so much so that we often found ourselves shooting away, hopping onto walls or clambering up embankments for a better angle without ever having to say a word to either of them.

An incredible location is all well and good, but it is only ever an added bonus for us. What really gets us excited about shoots is the couples themselves, and when we meet a couple like Emma and Rich we want nothing more than to capture some beautiful memories that they can treasure. It’s pretty difficult to think of anything more rewarding than that.
