Ilkley Wedding Photographers Yorkshire
Lucy and David’s Ilkley Engagement Photography
We always feel incredibly lucky to live where we do, Yorkshire is full of amazing locations and breathtaking scenery. We have lived here for nearly eight years and we both truly call it our home. Everytime we see the Leeds skyline it brings a little smile to our faces, we now live closer to the countryside and we couldn’t wish to be anywhere else. It’s a great position to get to anywhere quickly, we have Red Kites circling outside our windows everyday, it’s one of the best spots for cycling (which Chris is making full use of at the moment) and we have easy access to all of the amazing Yorkshire Dales. When Lucy and David suggested an early morning shoot on top of the Yorkshire Moors we got a little excited! We always love shooting anywhere but it always feels a little more special when it’s somewhere we call home! We got up bright and early and met Lucy and David at the Cow and Calf (for anyone out of Yorkshire it’s a rock formation on Ilkley Moor!). On the drive over we had already spotted some Deer and were getting excited about the amazing light.
We always try to lead the shoot according to how the couple are feeling on the day – we could tell that Lucy and David were up for some exploring and later we found out that they had had a much more enduring treck on their holiday in Thailand which involved climbing what sounded like 400 steep, sloping steps! So it made us feel a little better for asking them to kindly climb over a few rocks for us! It was perfect weather on top of the Moor with no one else in sight. We got some amazing photographs and after an hour or so of chatting away we headed back home. We can’t wait for Lucy and David’s wedding later this month, I have a feeling it’s going to be an awesome day!
