We usually keep engagement shoots fairly local, but if we’ve got quite a while before the wedding we can often tie in other errands to get a location that’s a little different. We’ve still got a little over a year before James and Laura’s wedding so we had plenty of time to fit in a trip to James’ hometown of Whitby for a seaside shoot. Ok so suggesting we meet at the lighthouse wasn’t my best idea ever (Turns out there’s two, on opposite sides of the pier!) but we quickly found each other and took a little walk around the gothic town. It’s not often there’s a stream of bubbles being pumped into the street so we took the opportunity for an impromptu photo location. It’s lovely to meet couples ahead of the wedding and get to know them both a bit better, it makes our job go much smoother on the big day and I like to think it makes it a bit easier for the couple too! The only shame when we do have the time to do such a unique engagement shoot is that we have to wait so long for the wedding, we’ve not even finished this season yet!
