Kate and Graham’s Ilkley Moor Engagement Photography Yorkshire
It seems like Christmas always goes pretty fast for us, with family in Scotland and down in the Midlands, as well as weddings either side, we didn’t really spend too much time just doing nothing. That said the time that we did get we spent thinking about what 2015 could bring, as well as what we could do to improve. It’s amazing how a bit of time to evaluate can make you look at things differently. For us it was all about refining what we loved about last year and continuing to push ourselves creatively. So, by the time Kate and Graham’s engagement shoot rolled around a couple of weeks ago we were more than ready to get back to what we love doing – being out there taking photos.
We must have done something right though because as we drove to the shoot in the morning, with a fantastic winter sun battling the occasional snowstorm, it all seemed a bit too good to be true. All the while we felt sure the conditions couldn’t get any better, from glorious sunshine at the start through to one of the craziest snowstorms we have been out in. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty chilly at times, but even as we sheltered under the canopy of some trees things just seemed to look great through the viewfinders.
We headed back to the cars after things settled down a little, but from up on the moors we could see the next wave of snow moving through the valley below. It didn’t take long before we were in the middle of a white-out again. I’ve got to hand it to Kate and Graham, they seemed to enjoy the weather as much as we did. Lucky really, because as we took those last shots, running over to different spots for a better angle, snow absolutely soaking our cameras and freezing our hands, we really could have stayed until hypothermia set in!
