White Hart Hotel Harrogate Wedding Photographers York

We both love trips to Harrogate, it’s close enough to nip in for a quick Cafe stop or a look around the shops – quieter than Leeds and closer than York. Of course our fondness for the town might have been amplified by the incredible day that was ‘Le grand depart’ at the start of July. It’s hard to see the place without thinking of the incredible spectator hub, the noise and excitement that surrounded the day. Harrogate also brings back memories of some of our favourite weddings, with the picturesque streets and parks providing a fantastic reliable backdrop every time we visit.

Ellie and Andy’s day started out in Knaresborough with a ceremony at the beautiful St John’s church followed by a reception at the White Hart Hotel. The weather wasn’t quite the summery day we were hoping for but things eased off enough for us to be able to take the newly married couple on a short walk in the evening, just before we lost the remaining light. It seems like the weather was against us from the start with a ‘Sunset Engagement Shoot’ that ended up being a misty, atmospheric shoot, but in all honesty sometimes less than perfect weather can make for far more unique shots. If nothing else it forces you to get more creative inside which is always a good thing!

On the day it was awesome to see all of Ellie and Andy’s friends and family coming together to have such a great time, with Ellie from the North and Andy from the Midlands there where friends and family from all over and by the end of the day it seemed like one huge happy family!
