I often find it incredible the amount of choice that’s out there for brides and grooms at the moment. Not just in terms of photographers, it’s everything. From flowers to caterers there’s no reason to book anything you’re not 100% sure about. This, of course, extends to the venues as well. In 3 years and over 150 weddings I find it incredible that we’re yet to shoot at any wedding venue more than 2 or 3 times. We love the variety that our brides bring (with everything from marquees to barns and treehouses this year promises to be as exciting as ever for us) and yet there’s a few venues we know of yet haven’t worked at yet. One such place is the incredible Ripley castle where Caroline and Michael will be holding their wedding next month. We met up with them in February to have a chat about their big day and take a look around.
We were blown away by the amount of locations on site that are perfect for couple shots and neither of us can wait to get Michael and Caroline out in their wedding day attire for some stunning photos. With the moody sky and awesome sunshine not to mention birds flying overhead the shoot felt full of atmosphere and we can only hope for similar weather in April. The snowdrops were out, giving us a taste of what’s to come this spring and we really enjoyed discovering so many great spots in the grounds. I’ve no doubt we’ll pop their wedding online in the coming months but for now we’ll post a few from their fantastic engagement shoot!
