As most of you know by now Chris and I got married this November. We where lucky enough to be able to take 2 weeks off to enjoy time to ourselves on our Honeymoon. We chose a hotel called the Quinta da cebola vermelha – aptly translated to The Red Onion -in the heart of the Algarve, Portugal. We’d arranged a hire car as we knew it was quite remote so would need some form of transport – unfortunately we had trouble with the car company and where left without the car! Not a good start! Arriving at the Quinta da cebola vermelha was like arriving in a small bit of paradise. As soon as we arrived we were treated like family, everyday they where so welcoming and even fixed up some bikes they found in a garage and printed out a map for us to get around! We honestly couldn’t express how amazing Ard and Noor (the owners) where, without staying at the hotel we would have been lost! We would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone and are really looking forward to going back there someday.

Every holiday I have a rule that you must go in the pool or sea, the pool at the Quinta looked amazing and with 20 degree sun beaming down on us I thought it would be hot enough – oh was I wrong! Possibly the coldest pool I have ever been in! We met a lovely woman -Aranka – and her parents who were staying at the Quinta, she was a travel journalist and had travelled from Amsterdam all the way to the Algarve on a Tuk Tuk. Over 3500KM taking over 4 months and having to stop every 20KM to recharge the Tuk Tuk! – all with her loyal dog by her side. It was inspiring listening to her story so please check out her site at Travel2Share for more information or visit Aranka on her Facebook page.  Chris has not travelled much so we where so excited to go on our first holiday aboard together and photograph a new country. We visited the old city of Loule and the newer Vilamoura and Albufeira, some of the buildings where so old and we where not lost for inspiration! For the second part of our Honeymoon we went to the Lake District, Chris was especially happy as this gave him a chance to use his ND Filters with some stunning results which we will share shortly. With the wedding season coming to and end I thought it was a great time to share with you our travels! Hope you all enjoy looking through our photos.

2013 is looking quite busy at the moment so if you would like to enquire about a date then please get in contact either through our website at or e-mail us on Hope you all have an amazing Christmas – I am off to try to cook some mince pies and a Christmas cake!
